Save as PDF

Saving a Google Docs™ document as a PDF should be straightforward, but the built-in options often fall short, especially when your document is organized with Tabs.
The standard methods have limitations:
- Downloading from Google Docs™: Only saves the single tab you are currently viewing, not the entire document.
- Printing to PDF: This captures the whole document but automatically inserts an unwanted title page before each tab, cluttering your final file.
The Text To Table Converter add-on provides two simple and effective solutions to create the perfect PDF every time.
The Quickest Method: One-Click Download
For the fastest way to get a clean PDF of your entire document, use the one-click download feature. This option is designed for speed and convenience on standard-sized documents.
-
Click Download as PDF In the add-on sidebar, open the Document section and click the Download as PDF button.
-
Get Your File That’s it! The add-on will automatically prepare a PDF of your entire document, remove all the extra title pages, and download it directly to your computer.
The Flexible Method: Export with Options
If you need more control over the output, or are working with a very large document, the Export with Options… feature is the perfect tool.
-
Open the Export Dialog From the sidebar, open the Document section and click Export with Options….
-
Configure Your Export In the dialog that appears, you can:
- Choose the Format: Select PDF, or other formats like
.docx
. - Decide on Title Pages: Check or uncheck the “Do not create tab title pages” box.
- Select Scope: Choose to export the entire document, only specific tabs, or just the current tab.
- Choose the Format: Select PDF, or other formats like
-
Export the Document Click the Export button. The configured file will be created and downloaded.
Which Method Should You Use?
- Use Download as PDF for the fastest, no-fuss way to save a standard-sized document as a clean PDF.
- Use Export with Options… when you need a different file format, want to keep the title pages, or are working with a large document (> 30 tabs).
