Voice Reader is a browser-based text-to-speech tool built into the add-on sidebar. Because synthesis runs entirely in your browser, there are no AI credits consumed — generate as much audio as you want. Each generation supports up to 15,000 characters.

Accessibility — supports users with dyslexia and other reading or learning disabilities

Language review — confirm phrasing and rhythm before sharing or publishing

Where to Find It

Extensions menu: Extensions > Text To Table Converter > Voice Reader — opens the sidebar directly to Voice Reader (Google Docs™ and Slides™ only)
Sidebar: Extensions > Text To Table Converter > Launch Sidebar, then expand Quick Text Tools > Listen to Selection

How to Use

Open the sidebar via Extensions > Text To Table Converter > Voice Reader, or use Launch Sidebar and expand Quick Text Tools.
Under Listen to Selection, click Load Selection to pull text from your current Docs or Slides selection into the input box.
Review or edit the text in the input box if needed.
Choose a voice from the dropdown and adjust the speed if desired (0.5× – 2×).
Click Play to generate and play the audio. The button toggles to Pause during playback.
Use the scrubber to seek to any point in the audio.
Optionally click Download WAV to save the generated audio file.
Optionally click Download TXT to save the text currently in the input box.
