AI Agents

The AI Agents feature lets you describe what you want in plain language, then applies changes to your sheet in a structured workflow.

Open AI Agents

Section titled “Open AI Agents”

You can open it in either of these ways:

  • Extensions → Text To Table Converter → 🚀 AI Agents (opens the sidebar with AI Agents expanded)
  • Open the add-on sidebar, then expand the AI Agents accordion

Run Your First Prompt

Section titled “Run Your First Prompt”
  1. Open a sheet and select a range you want to update.
  2. Open AI Agents from the sidebar or Extensions menu.
  3. Keep Use the selected range only enabled (recommended).
  4. Enter a clear prompt, then click Run.
  5. Review the applied result and optional AI summary.

What AI Agents Can Do

Section titled “What AI Agents Can Do”
  • Write new values into cells based on your instruction
  • Apply cell formatting (for example bold, text color, background color)
  • Apply formulas in a final formula pass
  • Set column types/validation patterns
  • Apply conditional formatting rules
  • Apply filters on the target range
  • Answer read-only questions about your selected data

Key Options

Section titled “Key Options”
  • Use the selected range only: limits the run to your current selection
  • Apply Formatting: allows formatting updates
  • Apply Conditional Formatting: allows final conditional-format rules
  • Apply Final Formula Pass: allows formula application in the final stage
  • Apply Filters: allows filter setup on the final range
  • Web Search: allows external web retrieval when needed

Best Practices

Section titled “Best Practices”
  • Be specific about output columns and rules in your prompt.
  • Start with a focused range, then scale up.
  • Keep formatting options enabled only when you need them.
  • For large sheets, process in smaller sections first.

Example Prompts

Section titled “Example Prompts”
  • Standardize city names in this range to title case.
  • Create a Status column with values: On Track, At Risk, Blocked based on the Notes column.
  • Highlight rows in red where Amount is greater than 10000.
  • Add a formula in the Margin column: (Revenue - Cost) / Revenue.
