Fix Grammar and Spelling

The Text To Table Converter Add-On includes powerful AI proofreading tools. With a single click, you can fix grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes in selected text or entire tables directly within Google Docs™, Google Slides™, and Google Sheets™.

This feature is also excellent for language learners, providing a fast way to correct sentences and instantly see the improvements.

Correcting Plain Text

Use this feature to improve any selected text, from a single sentence to multiple paragraphs.

  1. Select the Text Highlight the text within your document that you wish to correct.

    Example Text with Errors:

    emily love her morning cofee, its her favorite part of the day. She always get a oat milk latte with extra cinamon on top. The taste are amazing.

  2. Apply Correction Navigate through the menu to Extensions > Text To Table Converter > Fix Grammar & Spelling and click Fix Grammar & Spelling.

  3. Review the Corrected Text The corrected version of your text is inserted directly below your original selection for easy comparison.

    Resulting Corrected Text:

    Emily loves her morning coffee; it's her favorite part of the day. She always gets an oat milk latte with extra cinnamon on top. The taste is amazing.

Available Correction Tools

While Fix Grammar & Spelling is the most common choice, the menu offers several focused AI tools:

  • Fix Grammar & Spelling: The comprehensive option that corrects all issues at once.
  • Fix Grammar: Focuses only on grammatical structure and sentence flow.
  • Fix Spelling: Corrects only spelling mistakes.
  • Fix Punctuation: Standardizes commas, periods, capitalization, and other punctuation.

Correcting Text within Tables

You can apply the same AI corrections to text inside your tables. The add-on processes the text in each cell and generates a new, corrected table below the original.

  1. Select the Table Position your cursor inside the table you wish to correct, or select the entire table.

  2. Apply Correction Navigate through the menu as before and select your desired correction type (e.g., Fix Grammar & Spelling).

  3. Review the New Table A new table containing the corrected text will be inserted below your original table, preserving its structure and formatting.
