Quick Delete Duplicate Rows

Quick Delete Duplicate Rows removes duplicate rows with a short set of options. You must run a preview before you can delete.

How to use Quick Delete Duplicate Rows#

1. Open the tool

Open the sidebar from Extensions > Text To Table Converter > ⚡ Launch Sidebar. On the home screen, under Sheets tools, choose Sheets Mega Tools, then choose Quick Delete Duplicate Rows.

You can also use Extensions > Text To Table Converter > Sheets Mega Tools to open the Sheets Mega Tools screen directly.

2. Choose the search scope
   • Selection: select the range on your sheet first.
   • Current Sheet (default)
   • All sheets: every sheet is scanned, but each sheet is checked on its own. Rows are never compared across sheets.

3. Set the options

Open the arrow next to Delete Duplicates:

• Data has headers: on by default
• Duplicate handling: Keep first occurrence (default), Keep last occurrence, or Delete every occurrence
• Ignore empty rows: on by default
• Trim whitespace: on by default
• Case-sensitive: off by default
• Create backup: off by default

4. Click Preview

The preview reports how many duplicate rows were found, how many will be deleted, and how many will be kept.

5. Click Delete Duplicates

Delete Duplicates works only after a preview that used the same options. If you change an option or the sheet changes, run Preview again.

6. Confirm

You are asked to confirm because the deletion cannot be undone. Turn on Create backup if you may need the rows back.

Quick Delete or Find Duplicate Rows#

Use Quick Delete Duplicate Rows when:

• You already know you want the duplicates gone
• You only need to choose which occurrence to keep

Use Find Duplicate Rows when:

• You want to review, highlight, or mark duplicates first
• You need to pick the columns to compare or find unique rows
• You want to export the results
