Copy Content to Clipboard (LLM)

Convert a Google Docs™, Sheets™, or Slides™ file to Markdown, copy it, and open ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, or Copilot.

Need to move content from your Google Docs™, Sheets™, or Slides™ file into an AI chat? The Text To Table Converter add-on turns your file into Markdown and lets you copy it or send it to an AI assistant in one click.

Copy Options#

Copy all contents to clipboard (LLM): Converts the entire file, meaning all tabs, sheets, or slides. Use it when the AI needs the full context.

Copy tab, slide, or sheet contents: Converts only what you are viewing. The button label depends on the app: Copy tab contents to clipboard (LLM) in Docs, Copy slide contents to clipboard (LLM) in Slides, and Copy sheet contents to clipboard (LLM) in Sheets.

Copy current section (LLM): Docs only. Converts the section (heading and its content) around your cursor.

How It Works#

  1. Choose a button

Open the add-on sidebar and go to Document Tools. In the Copy for LLMs group, click the button you want. The same items are in the menu under Extensions > Text To Table Converter > Document Tools.

  1. Review the Markdown

A modal opens and shows the exact Markdown generated from your file.

  1. Copy it

The add-on tries to copy the text to your clipboard automatically. Browsers can block this without telling you, so if you are not sure, click Copy to Clipboard. A message confirms when the contents are copied.

  1. Open an AI assistant

Use the launch buttons Open ChatGPT, Open Claude, Open Gemini, Open Grok, Open Perplexity, or Open Copilot. Each one copies the Markdown and opens that assistant in a new tab.

  1. Paste and use

Paste (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V) into the chat once the new tab opens.

Why This Feature Is Useful#

  • Fast context transfer: get the content of several tabs, sheets, or slides without selecting text by hand.
  • Markdown output: headings, lists, and tables stay readable for the AI.
  • Works across apps: Docs, Sheets, and Slides each use their own structure.

Tip: Use the current-tab, slide, or sheet button for a focused question, and Copy all contents when you need a full-file analysis.
