QR Code

The QR Code feature lets you turn text or URLs into a styled QR code with a live preview. Customize dots, corners, background, and logos, then insert the QR code into your document or download it as a PNG.
Access the QR Code Tool
Section titled “Access the QR Code Tool”Open the add-on sidebar and select QR Code.
Generate a QR Code
Section titled “Generate a QR Code”- Open the QR Code section in the sidebar.
- Enter text or a URL. Or click the link icon next to the input field to Share this document via QR code (tooltip: “Share this document via QR code”) and auto-fill the current file’s URL.
- Adjust the settings for your QR code. You can access ‘Basic’ and ‘Advanced’ settings.
- Review the live preview to confirm the code scans correctly.
- Click ‘Insert’ to inject the QR code into your document or click ‘Download’ to get it as a PNG file.
Shortcuts
Section titled “Shortcuts”Quick actions in the QR Code panel:
- Share this document via QR code: One-click shortcut that fills the data field with the current file’s URL so you can instantly generate a QR code for the open Doc/Slide/Sheet.
- Load selected: Select a QR image in the document, then click Load selected (the icon button beside the preview) to read QR metadata from the selection and apply saved settings when available.
Style Options
Section titled “Style Options”Customize the look and feel of your QR code:
- Dots & corners: Choose styles that match your brand.
- Background color: Set a clean or transparent background.
- Logo: Upload a logo to create a branded QR code.
Use Cases
Section titled “Use Cases”- Link to a website URL or product page.
- Share a Google Docs™, Slides™, or Sheets™ document via its sharing link.
- Print the QR code so users can scan it and request access to your document.
