Choice Sync from Sheets

Preview and update Google Forms dropdown, multiple-choice, and checkbox options from columns in one selected Google Sheet.

Choice Sync from Sheets is a Google Forms-only workflow. It maps supported Form questions to columns in one spreadsheet and updates choices only when you run the sync.

Manual sync in the current release

Choice Sync stores your mappings for reuse but does not install an automatic trigger. Run the preview and update flow whenever the source values change.

Create or update a mapping

  1. 1In Google Forms, choose Extensions > Text To Table Converter > Form Tools > Sync choices from Sheets, or open Choice Sync from the sidebar Home screen.
  2. 2Choose one source spreadsheet, then select the worksheet and column for each supported question.
  3. 3Enable each question you want to sync, then click Preview to see the values that will be used.
  4. 4Click Save mapping to store it, or Update now to replace the current choices in the mapped Form questions.

Source data and limits

  • Row 1 of the sheet must contain headers. Values are read from row 2 down, as they are displayed in the sheet.
  • Blank cells and exact duplicates are skipped automatically.
  • If you rename a mapped header, the preview breaks. Choose the column again.
  • Questions with answer-based section navigation are not supported.
  • In a quiz, an update that would remove a correct answer is blocked.
  • You can save up to 100 mappings.
