Travis
Have you switched to Pageless format in Google Docs and noticed that the document width feels too narrow or too wide? You might look in Page Setup to change it, but that setting isn’t there.
Here’s how to adjust the text width in Pageless view.
How to Change Text Width in Pageless Format
The width setting is tucked away in the View menu, not in Page Setup.
Steps:
- Open your document in Google Docs.
- Go to File > Page setup, and make sure Pageless is selected.
- Then go to View > Text Width.
- Choose from Narrow, Medium, or Wide.
That’s it. Your document will instantly adjust based on the setting you choose.
Tip: This only affects how the document appears to you. It won't impact others unless they change the setting on their end too.
What Is Pageless Format Good For?
Pageless format is ideal when you want your content to flow without page breaks. It’s great for:
- Viewing wide tables or large images
- Collaborating on long-form writing
- Reading without distractions from margins or page breaks
But it also means traditional page layout tools, like margins and columns, are not available.
If you prefer more control over layout and printing, you may want to stick with Pages format.
